Bug

I bought a second property, and when I try to go to it and click "Move to Property" it just closes the popup. Also, by buying a new property all of the CDs I had in stock vanished, so essentially by trying to upgrade I lost everything.

It's an okay game other than that though.

Xeptic responds:

The CD's vanishing is supposed to happen (you do get paid for them by the way, albeit less than what you bought them for).

Moovlin

The graphics are obviously pretty awful. The story is played out and boring. The dialogue and jokes are god awful. The majority of the music is stolen. But it's a fun game. Very good and challenging gameplay, and it is jam packed with things to do

Also, some bugs I've found:
In the fish boss level, I boosted out of the top left side of the screen and could not re-enter the screen. I had to manually restart.
In any level, if you jump off of the level to the left at the beginning, it doesn't make you die, it just stays there. Again, you have to manually restart.
Not a bug, but annoying: every time you beat a level you have to rechoose which hat you want to go into the next level. It should remember which hats you chose.

Anyway, it's a good game. Could just use a ton of polishing.

Psychofig responds:

Wow, I've been following you for a really long time, and you are quite a harsh critic. Thanks for the review, I surely thought you would have voted 0.

Terrible

I find it bizzarre that this game is getting any attention. This is the kind of flash game that was being made ten years ago. It is so absurdly simple. You run constantly, and you can jump over things or shoot things. And occasionally you can get a "power up" that gives you a temporary cosmetic change. Ugh.

The graphics for the foreground are nice, although the background with the mountains and lightning is ugly. So I can't even say the graphics are good because only some of the graphics are good.

Completely simple game, not worth playing.

raitendo responds:

haha, this is really getting under your skin, isn't it? A series of comments at indiegames, one on my announcement post and now a review? Come on, you can't fight it. Just let people enjoy it.

Coma

It's often hard to tell what is solid and can be jumped on and what isn't. The idea of this kind of subconscious person in a coma isn't that original. There isn't much to the gameplay, you mostly just walk back and forth.

Still, it's pretty, and I'm glad I played it, and you did a good job. So. Whatevs.

AtmosGames responds:

I'm glad you played it too Registar. Thanks for the review :)

grind grind grind grind

grind grind grind grind grind grind grind

the graphics are really good though, you should use those graphics to make a good game

likwidgames responds:

Grinding is a big part of most RPGs.

review

For an arcadey type game it is really pretty easy to master, but the enemies just get faster which isn't really a fun way of making it harder. I don't feel like the game benefits in any way from being a God of War parody or from the anti-capitalism nonsense, but it's a fun little game and uh whatever seven out of ten, it's okay.

SwingSwing responds:

I don't think the game will be the same without the God of War theme (cause the sequence is really link to this game) and not sure the anti-capitalism texts are nonsense.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your serious review :)

Aidan

The mouse isn't at the same place the hand is, so you have to look at where the mouse is for where to grab things even though it should be the hand. I also got a bug with putting the pipe in Aidan's hand and taking it that caused the pipe to vanish entirely. It's a cool idea though, all though so far controlling Aidan hasn't really mattered. Maybe put in like a pressure plate thing where Aidan has to be in a certain place or something, or some other puzzle where it involves a physical thing, otherwise you're just controlling the imaginary friend the whole time.

It's a cool idea, I like the art, and I look forward to seeing the full thing.

korded responds:

Thanks for the comments,

I think now I'll have to do something about the hand, the problem I was having though was the hand obscuring things when you scrolled over them, so I'll have to play with it.

As far as controlling Aidan, the biggest point will be just to navigate the environment, as I didn't want to use the mouse to cycle through scenes. In the full version, there will be more use in controlling both characters.

shoot shoot shoot and things blow up

boring shmup, nothing new there

looks like it is drawn on a piece of graph paper; nothing new there either

gameplay is subpar from the average shmup, the gimmick has been done before and you didnt even do it particularly well

integralStudios responds:

Thank you for your input, but perhaps some specific problems you have with the actual gameplay would be more helpful.

Condition

Cave Story without the charm, but completely playable, and, eh, whatever, it's a game.

abielins responds:

I'm actually flattered that you compared this to Cave Story!
We can't all be as charming as Pixel ;)

It's fun

I like that you didn't reuse many graphics and it is uh its very ideal good job

jjwallace responds:

hey thanks,
i was trying to make a game with no defined levels and no score...
