Project Flame

The graphics are very nice, but that's kind of it.

Platforming is very shaky. The game doesn't seem to be on any kind of tile system or even aligned to a grid, and the platforming, especially in the area with the green slime in B2, suffers for it. It's very easy to accidently slide off of ledges. There are also often areas with jumps you can just barely make.

The dialogue is generic garbage, but not awful. Typos I noticed were when you try to go to B3, Vux tells you access is "denide", and Adam says there is something "overthere" at the end. Almost half of the sentences don't end with periods or don't have capitalization at the start, and there are several run-on sentences.

The combat isn't particularly fun, you only have one weapon and you just blast it on the enemies and wait for them to die, which takes a while. It also takes way too long to destroy the crates which is annoying.

I love looking at the art, especially those ruins at the end, and it's fun to explore, but the gameplay isn't too fun at the moment. I'm glad you're looking for feedback and hopefully you'll improve, because it could be really fun.

review

For an arcadey type game it is really pretty easy to master, but the enemies just get faster which isn't really a fun way of making it harder. I don't feel like the game benefits in any way from being a God of War parody or from the anti-capitalism nonsense, but it's a fun little game and uh whatever seven out of ten, it's okay.

SwingSwing responds:

I don't think the game will be the same without the God of War theme (cause the sequence is really link to this game) and not sure the anti-capitalism texts are nonsense.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your serious review :)

Feed Mee

Diner dash with Plants VS Zombies-esque descriptions for the zombie customers. The gameplay isn't original, but it's cute.

Ora

Boring and repetitive.

Also I got 583725 out of the 540000 required to unlock the hardest mode and it has not unlocked.

Necronator

Your pixel graphics are really really great but man this kind of game is getting boring

It's still a solid game but it's not as good as infectionator and you know uhh try your hand at something else

Yawn

You clearly know how to make a solid game

I wish you would take that talent and make something original. Graphically, gameplaywise, everything about it has been done before.

the sound walk

yeah it was just one of those "press the right button at the right time" kinda games. the art is nice but that's about it. it did one of those dumb things a lot of average games do which is sync the game up to music to try to make it seem special or artistic but really it adds nothing to the game. its kinda hard to tell when to press the correct key and often there are so many enemies on screen they go over top of each other and its just a big cluster fuck.

yawn

just another tower defense game. the graphics are cute at least

Good Job On Your Awful Game

After waiting an hour for the game to start (not because of loading, but because of one million fading in and out intros) I am greeted with a game that looks like it was made by a 12 year old and designed to appeal to the same age. The entire game is a mess with no thought put into the design. An awful mix of hand drawn and pixel graphics slapped together randomly. Even the pixel graphics don't have consistency because they are all of different sizes and scaled so everything looks terrible. No gameplay to speak of.

quietus: the review
